One busy man !

I would like to introduce all of you to David Grandt. On November 1, 2006 David has put in his 42nd year with Barco. He started with Aeroquip in 1965 and remained with the Barco product line when Aeroquip split into three separate entities in 1988. On January 5, 2007 David will make his last 45-minute trip to Barco, for he is retiring. David has experienced many changes and automations through the years. Because of his many years of service and experience he has become one of Barco’s go to employees. He can fabricate you any joint, find you any component, and ship for you any order.

David has been married to his wife Pat for 43 years. They have three children and three grandchildren. He is Barco’s very own Dr. Doolittle. David and Pat’s house is much like a pet shop. For the last forty years they have been breeding and raising dogs. In that forty years they have had Collies, Corgies, St. Bernard’s, Cocker Spaniels, Shelties and currently Dachshund’s and Shih Zu’s. For twenty-nine years they also raised birds. During that time they have had Pigeons, Finches, Canaries, Cockateils, Butt Quail, and Cockatoos. At one point and time they had over 350 birds in their basement. Currently they have 23 Dachshund’s and Shih Zu’s in their kennels, their house dog Rags, an Australian Shepherd, Red the Persian cat, and Hello Dolly, David’s Paint mare. In his retirement he is looking forward to spending more time with Pat, riding horses, redoing his dog kennels, and working part-time for his son.

We will all miss David’s optimistic attitude, ability to find the positive in any situation, the continuous smile on his face, and the new and unique stories he has for us each day. Barco would like to say thank you David for your many years of service, the knowledge you have passed on to others, and your optimistic attitude on life.
